I am a fully integrated human, living a full life. I welcome you to witness my journey. I’ve been called an “Old Soul,” a “Beacon for the Future,” and an “Intrepid Adventurer.” I’ve always had a sense of myself as a leader since my name means “road to tomorrow” when taken literally.

I don’t care who someone loves, how they worship, the color of their skin or the land of their birth.

What I DO care about:

• How someone treats another who cannot hurt or help them,
• How someone speaks about another when that person is not around, and
• How someone treats me
• I value honesty, integrity, and honor
• I believe in educating people out of hate and substance abuse
• I believe in loving those who are most in pain, not punishing them
• I believe that hurt people will hurt people. We all need to love those who hurt the most so that they can stop hurting others and themselves.

On the work front, I tend to write and teach. I’m either building a website; writing or editing a story; or writing a blog post on whatever catches my attention. I’m available for projects, so please use one of the links to the right to schedule your project today!

I keep my hands busy with crochet, sewing, and painting, or trying my hand at various other crafts like beading, weaving, basket making or bookbinding, as I find an interest. I still make some beaded jewelry. I usually have more than one project going at one time in any crafting style.

I can’t seem to stop thinking, so I’ll probably keep at it for a while.

As a teacher, I lead classes at the Memorial Park Community Center in Johnson City as people request them. While I concentrate on MS Office classes, any computer class is fair game. I also teach internet security from the basics to keeping yourself safe online. While I can teach how to build websites, no one has yet requested that class.

Limit 9 persons per class. All classes $5/session unless otherwise marked.

I’ve read books on the topics of feminism, mythology, language derivation, occult, spirituality, religion, archeology, and history. It is my belief that women’s historical stories are hidden in myths, fairytales and folktales, and unraveling those threads are a big part of my journey. Accordingly, my bibliography is quite extensive.

Along the way, I obtained a BA in Women’s Studies with a Minor in English. I also have a degree in Mathematics. I write and research regularly, and hope to produce a full “History of Patriarchy” in the future. I am involved with several organizations and have many interests. During November, you will find me participating in NaNoWriMo, in front of my computer, writing furiously. The biggest challenge I face as a writer is turning off my inner editor and critic voices. Turning them off has allowed me to finish the stories that I start. I’ve been lucky enough to publish projects and recently finished a fictional work.

When I read for pleasure, I tend to go for expansive space operas in the sci-fi genre, mystery stories with some comedy added, romance novels (with a plot besides marriage and sex as the goal) which feature more mature female lead characters, suspense, southern lit, and Appalachian lit. I also love family saga stories. I watch old moves, musicals, and sci-fi whenever I can, though I dislike dystopian, vampire and werewolf stories. I’m not interested in paranormal stories in any media.

I loved the Richard Bach series, got bored by Robert Ludlum and David Eddings, and Grissom is too gritty for me. I adore Jana DeLeon, Asimov, Moorcock, Stephen King, and many others. I’ll read a lot of stuff just because it’s in front of me
