I Paint Kitchens. ONLY Kitchens.
The Process: First, Book Your Service, Then–
1- You Clear Out Your Exposed Stuff
Put stuff away. Put it in a box. Pile it in a spare room. It needs to be out of the kitchen while I’m working. I’ll cover everything else, like the stove & fridge.
2- Pick Your Color
I’ll get the paint, but you pick the color. I supply paint, brushes, rollers, helpers, tape, and tarps. You pick the color you want. If you want a 2-color kitchen I can do that. I don’t do textures or special effects.
3- We Move the Appliances
Nothing is more annoying than moving the fridge and finding out nobody bothered to paint behind it. We move the appliances out from the wall and paint behind them.
4- We Can Paint the Cupboards
So, you want white cabinet doors instead of brown? We can do that. We can also update the hardware to what you provide so everythig looks really nice when we are through.
Walls need to be prepped so that the paint gives the best possible finished results, which can add time to the process, as surfaces need to be clean and dry before any paint is applied.
It can take up to 5 days to paint a kitchen depending on the size and complexity of the room. Please plan accordingly for meals.
My crew is experienced, and I am on-site during the entire process.
Paint emits VOCs, since this is not the typical water-based latex paint so commonly used these days. I use the best quality paints, and try to get those with the least volitile compounds, but there will still be a little paint smell that accompanies the process.
Kitchen paint needs to be a better-quality paint to stand up in kitchen environments. As such, it may take an additional week for the walls to be completely “cured” and the paint to be completely water-proof.
