What if we sent over 100W solar panel kits to these areas? Add the inverters, a deep cycle marine battery and the panels, and folks could run their fridges. Maybe not the AC, but food storage is a big deal.
Another thing is clean drinking water.
We can also send water filtration systems, like Berkey or LifeStraw, Those would be a good thing to send over.
Even if the Red Cross can’t take this stuff, there ought to be a way to get them to the people who need it. Add some emergency kits, some first aid kits, some emergency rations, and shelter kits.
What would you want someone to send you? Add it to your kit.
I don’t know who to send it to, but any truck going that way could take a box or two. Maybe even more.
I know lots of churches want to help, too.
Enough of relying on the government – which obviously cannot help us.
Let’s start relying on ourselves and each other. Put together a couple of kits – at least one kit for yourself and your family. Make a second kit to donate.
Don’t just throw money at stuff. Sometimes, the personal touch is best.
