I’ve been watching politics about as long as I’ve been alive. Since Eisenhower was a lame duck president, at least. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such emotional blackmail in the office – or in politics – ever.
The current occupant of the White House in the United States is a child. He is willing to hurt anyone who doesn’t give him what he wants.
Whether it’s his own party, or innocent children brought to the border by their parents fleeing terrible situations, this man is without decency. He throws things, demands whatever, and holds huge grudges for the smallest slight. The man is an emotional black hole.
He is willing to bring down the very system that put him in power because he wants what he wants and doesn’t understand – or can’t comprehend – the word “NO.”
He wants what he wants when he wants it – just like a child in his high chair having a tantrum.
What do the parenting manuals tell us about children who are coddled when having a tantrum? That the tantrums work for the child to get what it wants. The child will have more – and more vigorous – tantrums to keep getting what it wants.
What is the best parenting tactic when a child has a tantrum?
WALK AWAY. IGNORE IT.
Ignore the child. Don’t give in. Take care that the child won’t hurt itself or others, but otherwise let the tantrum run down.
What is the current group in government doing? Coddling the child.
The press corps are the worst at this. They think everything the president does or says is news. Not so.
What’s news?
Nearly everyone who worked on his campaign staff – and many others – are being or have been charged for lying to Congress or the FBI; are being or have been indicted for crimes against the country.
ALL AT THE BEHEST OF THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF.
So, what are we, the people of the country, to do?
Ignore him.
Don’t allow him to carry out threats of violence against himself or others, confine him so that he can’t do any damage to the immediate environs, and go about our business.
Unfortunately, too many of his minions are still in power for that to happen.
We have the border patrol and military still blindly following his orders – even when they are clearly issued by a madman.
Yes, I said that word.
He is mad. He is insane. He belongs in a straightjacket in a rubber room being spoonfed the pablum he never got as a baby.
May he choke on it!
