I’ve been working for about 2 months on Advent Calendars for a friend of mine.
Here are the finished items:
This was a project with a love/hate relationship! I liked the learning, but I hated it because there was so much I had to learn. I hate nylon thread. I hate bindings. I learned so much making these.
Almost every aspect had to be thought out and planned. I can’t tell you how many times I changed my mind or was stumped making these. It took 3 trips to the sewing store, too.
The pockets have “tucks” at the bottom so they present more narrow than they were cut. I could have cut them wider.
The binding is thin, and when I cut it, I could have cut it a bit wider. It was only 2.5″ wide.
I might have used more ribbons and trims to decorate them a little more, but I pretty much used everything I had. I even combined some trim to make a new trim that didn’t exist before.
They are done! I’m so glad they are done.
And my sewing machine is probably happy, too. I will stop using the nylon thread, and continue with other sewing projects.
