I’ve been reading Tarot Cards for about 40 years. Maybe a little longer. Well, I read cards again today for several people at a “Gypsy Carnival” and had a blast!
It was so fun to read for people I’ve never met and have positive feedback. I guess I’m pretty good at this. The Gypsy Carnival was held at a local spiritual center called “Spiritual Awakenings.”
Spiritual Awakenings is a thriving center for folks who want to practice their religion in peace. Every so often, they open their doors to the public and invite folks for readings and celebrations.
Tonight’s event centered around Mabon, which is a welcoming in of Autumn on the Equinox. All day, it was hot. By the time we got around to the ritual, it was pouring rain. Of course! A reminder that spirit is with us always, and has a sense of humor.
The readings I offered were 1, 2 or 3-card readings. People mostly chose the 3-card readings, which I called “Past, Present and Future” readings. There was one 2-card reading and a few 1-card readings. I brought three decks of cards. I only used one deck once, when a precious little girl sat in my chair. I explained what the cards were about and what they could tell me for her. Of course, that reading was free! I enjoyed the time with her. After 7pm, the kids were mostly gone and the adults took over.
Oh, and did I tell you about the belly dancers? The “Misfit Gypsys” were amazing! I loved the way they danced and choreographed things. And the costumes with bells and coins are always fun to look at and hear.
So, back to the readings. I must have read quite a few folks’ cards, because I was able to pay my table fee and put some funds aside for the next week’s activities – which are pretty important to me.
Of course, I’m exhausted and drained by the experience. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
