I went to the Johnson City Public Library to return the Mystery Writers Handbook and get some reading material for the holiday. I need to take time off the computer to let my arm and wrist rest a little bit while not watching the boob-tube all day long.
Accordingly, I got out 3 books. One turned out to be a little too religious for me, another I’d already read, and the third I’m reading. Turn of Light by Julie E. Czerneda seems like a coming-of-age fantasy story so far. There are magical beings, enchanted places, and so on. Not really my cup of tea, but it’s something. I’ve read so much of this genre, that it bores me easily.
I was looking for a Jana DeLeon, but I guess she’s only on Amazon. Too bad. If her books were in the library, everyone would know how wonderful she is!
The mystery books I found all seemed to be cozy stories, and I prefer the more suspenseful story with a larger scope. But not a Tom Clancy. Does anyone have any suggestions? Author names only, please.
